I worked as a Psychotherapist for 25 years before I retired from the NHS and now I have a small private practice as a psychotherapist.

I mainly use psychodynamic psychotherapy, developed from psychoanalysis. This is a ‘talking therapy’, which is valuable when people need more intense and deeper and longer-term therapy than is available on the NHS, or when shorter therapy hasn’t worked. I also provide supervision, and therapy for trainees.

I have trained in several other models of therapy, including Psychodrama, Group, Individual, Family and Couples Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, CBT, Hypnotherapy.

Therapy normally takes place for an hour once a week, although sometimes it is useful to meet more often. Together we will explore how things have gone wrong and how they might be changed so that you can move on or feel better again. Some people find that a couple of sessions is enough to help them change for the better, sometimes it can take a lot longer, especially if the problems have been around for many years.
