About me
I am a professionally qualified and accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist, working with individuals and couples since 2000, on a short-term and long-term basis in an oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Sessions take place in a caring and professional environment, which is sufficiently challenging to effect change. Working together we can help you gain better understanding of yourself, to overcome obstacles in your life, and reach your goals.

Expertise
I work with people on a wide range of issues. My expertise lies in the areas of: anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, anger management, stress, compulsive lying and sexual identity.

My approach to counselling/psychotherapy
There are a number of different approaches to counselling and psychotherapy. I work primarily using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), which all have a strong evidence base. The quality of the therapeutic relationship contributes to a positive outcome in counselling, which is very important in my work.

I offer a non-judgemental approach, without discrimination on such grounds as sex, race, religion, class, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity.

Experience
I have worked in various settings within the private sector, NHS and voluntary sector.

My experience of working with clients encompasses a wide range of issues with clients from all walks of life, including different nationalities, ethnicities, religions and sexual orientations.
