A crowd funding appeal was launched on the 6th of May by Growing Sudley, with whom the Eco Offices will be collaborating to provide additional zero carbon therapy space.
A Community Interest Company with whom we share an interest in healthy and sustainable living, Growing Sudley obtained grant funding from Power To Change and other charities to convert a disused changing room block in the gardens behind Sudley House (pictured above) into a Community Health and Wellbeing centre, providing additional therapy rooms in a beautiful parkland setting.
It will also provide an administrative base for Growing Sudley to run and grow their existing portfolio of garden and other outdoor activities especially geared to elders, children and those with disabilities and other health conditions. The historic walled garden next to the changing rooms is being developed into a therapeutic gardening and nature therapy resource for the whole community.
The grant funding was sufficient only for basic renovation, and they are asking well-wishers to pledge a further £27,000 to install the necessary insulation, air tightness and renewable energy installations to make the building zero carbon, without using gas or other fossil fuels.
Once open, expected sometime in 2022, the new centre will operate as an additional therapy resource alongside the Eco Offices. The organisations will remain independent but will share marketing and administrative functions.
